Pain Management Clinic for the Torrance and Southbay
South Bay Rehabilitation’s licensed therapists have extensive experience helping our patients reduce or eliminate acute short-term pain, or manage chronic pain which persists for long periods. We use a variety of effective, non-invasive pain management therapies to reduce pain, promote healing, and restore function and movement.
Some of our patients that have found relief at our pain management clinic had tried physical therapy elsewhere without success. As a patient at our South Bay Rehab pain management clinic, you will first receive a thorough one-hour evaluation, after which an individualized pain management treatment plan will be developed. You will work with a knowledgeable, experienced, and caring physical therapist who is up-to- date on the latest methods for pain management.
Common Conditions Treated at Our Pain Management Clinic
Some of the most common conditions we treat are neck and back pain, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and other conditions involving chronic pain.
We take a conservative approach to pain management. We apply a wide variety of physical therapy treatments to stimulate your body’s natural abilities to healing that include:
- Manual therapies including massage
- Cutaneous stimulation —superficial heating or cooling of skin using hot and cold packs, or contrast baths, or paraffin treatments
- Electrotherapy — Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) and Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
- Ultrasound and Phonophersis
- Exercise
- Stretching and strengthening exercises
- Biofeedback
